Volunteer Name: Suzanne Wilkie
Role: Events Team member
Reasons for volunteering with PMINS: I don’t work in a traditional project manager role, so being a part of PMINS has given me the opportunity to participate in PM learning opportunities and to get to know other people with similar interests. The Events Team is always coming up with new and fun ways to engage the membership and I enjoy being a part of the planning process.
Another great story on our Volunteer of the Year. Here is what was shared about Suzanne:
I highly recommend Suzanne Wilkie as the Volunteer of the Year for her exceptional commitment and contributions to our chapter. Over the past three years (at a minimum), she has consistently dedicated her time and efforts to volunteering, showcasing her passion and dedication towards our chapter.
One of Suzanne’s outstanding qualities is her ability to take on increasing responsibilities. Starting from her initial involvement, she has continuously stepped up to manage the back end of our events, ensuring smooth operations and logistics. Her attention to detail and organizational skills have greatly contributed to the success of our events.
However, what truly sets Suzanne apart this year is her willingness to step out of her comfort zone. She embraced a new challenge by working alongside Stefanie and managing in-person events. Despite the unfamiliarity, she quickly adapted and displayed exceptional teamwork, adaptability, and leadership skills. Her efforts played a vital role in the successful execution of these events and created a positive experience for all participants.
Overall, Suzanne has consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic, dedication, and a genuine desire to make a difference. Her three years of volunteering, coupled with her increasing responsibilities and stepping outside her comfort zone, make her an ideal candidate for the Volunteer of the Year award. She has undoubtedly made a significant impact on our chapter and has set a remarkable example for others to follow.
