Your Friendly Neighbourhood Chapter Volunteers

Volunteering is one of the many ways you can earn Giving Back PDUs to maintain your PMI certifications. It's also a great experience for shared learning and networking. Volunteering comes in many shapes and forms. In this blog post, we've asked some of our PMINS to put into their own words why they choose to volunteer.

Cathy Tse is a Project Manager and Industrial Engineer with expertise in project management, supply chain, data analysis, Process Mapping, and Process Improvement. Currently, Cathy is working at Nova Scotia Health in Halifax, Canada, as a Project Manager. She is responsible for leading projects across different departments, drafts business plans and communications for leadership, and collaborates with various levels in Nova Scotia Health. Before her current position, Cathy worked as supply chain analyst and supply/demand planner in Toronto, Melbourne and London UK. Cathy holds a P.Eng. designation and is a certified PMP. "As an extrovert, I find helping with event planning really help me to both stay energized and able to network. being someone that is always active in social events, volunteering in the event sector is suitable for me and I feel like I will be able to contribute the most. In short I found fun, so it’s a win win situation."
